Our New Pilgrimage Guide for the United States!

This extensive list of pilgrimage sites has been a long time coming! Over the years I’ve been compiling lists of holy sites in the United States as I’ve come across them. It started out as a bucket list that grew into this state-by-state list that I try to keep updated with links here.

But how much more fun is a list that makes it easy to find a Marian shrine when you want to spend some special time with Mama Mary? Or learn about a person on the road to canonization and find out where they are buried? Or maybe you want a quick and easy way to find a cathedral or basilica to visit on your upcoming family vacation? Or you want to make a pilgrimage to a shrine dedicated to your patron saint, but you don’t even know where to start looking?

That’s why I wanted to create a different kind of list. A little guide so to speak of American Catholic pilgrimage sites simply categorized with little fun facts and explanations of things like what are Schoenstatt shrines and what’s the difference between a proto-cathedral and a pro-cathedral.

Now, it’s not a conclusive list of every holy and historic site in the U.S. There are dozens of historic churches, monasteries, important statues and more that may come together in a future version. But I consider this a pretty good jumping off point, especially if you are new to seeking out pilgrimage sites in the U.S.

I hope you have just as much fun perusing this mini guide as I had putting it together for you. It’s been a labor of love that I hope will help you to grow in your faith through pilgrimage.
